In the third week of October, it’s undeniably #sweaterweather. Social posts galore make it hard to beat the coveted weekends being bundled up in cozy knits and whatever bottom you choose to pair with – that’s the beauty of sweaters. They’re the layering dream! They can be the centre piece, an over piece, or beneath a jacket. If you’re shopping on a budget this #FW16, we strongly recommend buying a neutral, well-made sweater.
Some things to look for in a good sweater are:
- Material- Look for wool blends, cashmere or alpaca. These are the warmest and most long-lasting materials you can find for a sweater.
- Fit – We get that slouchy and oversized is cute as anything, but try not to add too much bulk!
- Colour – Sweaters are ideal for layering, but they also stand alone quite well. We recommend purchasing a sweater that won’t have you rolling your eyes going ugh, the _____ coloured sweater again. This is going to be a key piece for your Fall/Winter season!
The sweaters we used for our capsule wardrobes are:
- Artizia Grey Sweater
- Michael Kors black sweater (no longer available – similar version here)
- Navy Turtleneck
- Grey V-Neck Sweater
What are some things you look for in a good sweater? And what’s your favourite sweater style? We’d love to know!
