There were several Boxing Day announcements that happened before anybody opened their gifts this year! If you’re like us, you’ve probably had several items marked “save for later” for a few weeks, consoling yourself that you can wait until the end of December to purchase. Well fair money mavens, wait no longer! We’re sharing some tips we’ll be keeping in mind, where we’ll be shopping and what we’re getting!
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
- Spring is coming – We usually use boxing week to think about cherry blossoms rather than snowflakes. It’s the next season you’ll see in window displays, so buying during boxing week you should keep that in mind.
- A sale doesn’t always mean it’s a deal – Boxing week is literally when stores need to empty their boxes out to make room for new things. Sometimes a price tag will be red, and we’ll get excited but really… $5 is not really a sale. Don’t buy for the sake of buying!
- Shop around – Sales vary from store to store. Don’t feel too much pressure to stay in one spot! Load up your cart on several online stores and compare; if you’re going to do in-store shopping, wandering is your advantage.
