A little more about us

Meant2Get started as a brainchild between two girls who share shopping opinions way too frequently and who were getting overwhelmed by the amount of social content to consume. We needed a place where we could be honestly ourselves, and to share this feeling of self-assurance with all those other girls who didn’t feel like they quite aligned with the social superstars of our social feeds. The reality of our conversations were based around making smart shopping decisions, and the trueness of the fact that while we enjoy shopping – we can’t spend our entire life doing this, and therefore need to make wise investment choices from time to time. But, with so much to buy, what do we focus on?

That’s why we started Meant2Get. To share the conversation of whether or not purchase is meant to be. Meant to get.

While we have, to date, primarily been focused on discussing investments in wardrobe, we will soon be expanding our conversation to broader topics of self-investment in the coming months.

A few things about us you may not know!

We are TECHY

With our roots in the tech industry, we are highly involved in the ever-growing, ever-changing technology sector. Olivia is a Digital Project Manager and Tess is a Marketing Manager in the world of ecommerce. We both enjoy the innovation, competition, and fast paced online world and have transferred a lot of the skills we’ve developed in tech to the Meant2Get brand.

We are ACTIVE

While we aren’t the poster children for fitness, we are both passionate about staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Whether it be studio classes, personal training, or marathon running, we make fitness a priority. Part of a healthy active lifestyle is investing in the right technical apparel to support your fitness goals. We know this goes beyond what you wear, and investing in food is key to help with a more holistic and balanced lifestyle.

We are LOCAL

The small retail  business community is shrinking. With the plethora of options both online and in store, it can be really difficult for boutiques to stay afloat. Local business is super important to a thriving community, which is why we try and shop local 20-30% of the time. You’d be surprised how much beauty there is in store (wink wink) when you shop local.

We are SUSTAINABLE

One of the main reasons we focus on investment pieces, is because of the impact that the fashion industry has on the environment. Next to Oil and Gas, fashion is the second largest contributor to environmental degradation. While making sustainable choices in fashion is both challenging and rare, we feel it is incredibly important to invest, when possible, in more sustainable designers, and wardrobe choices.

  • Choosing quality pieces that withstand the test of time will reduce the turnover of pieces within your wardrobe.
  • Choosing to consign unwanted items ensures the recycling of pieces beyond your personal lifecycle with that item.
  • Choosing designers and brands who consciously make ethical choices within the industry promotes a healthier, more sustainable future.

We are BABES

This sounds incredibly vain, but we promise it’s not. We’re babes in the two senses of the word.

1.) We are into ourselves, and self-care. Investing in clothing is one thing, but the body that wears it lasts a lot more than a seasonal rotation.

2.) We are mega into supporting our fellow female superheros (Babes supporting babes!) – this means local businesses, and women breaking barriers are our inspiration.

We hope this gives you a better idea of our shared values. Our goal is to expand our topics beyond fashion and create a larger dialogue for the digital community!
